What is your research question?

This is for the rest of the group to post and flesh out your research question so we can share these with each other and our PTEP organizers. Perhaps someone in the district has some ideas for helping us or similar research backgrounds and they would like to share with the group.

Norman's research question 1.0 -
How do low peforming minority students in a high performing dominant high school culture perceive whiteboard videos as an aquisition tool in the classroom?

Thanks to Dr. Summers for helping be the guide through this process.

My research question 1.1 question - How do students' experiences in technology-immersed classes affect their self-efficacy (attitudes) as learners?

Again, thanks to Dr. Summers for helping me draft and shorten my ideas into something easier to research. And thanks to the rest of the class for their input and guidance as well. Keep it up - I will need it!

My research question 1.2 - How do first grade girls (at my school in our district) perceive themselves as math learners?

I echo the thanks to Dr. Summers and the class for the guidance and support in class. It is so encouraging to be part of this group!

My research question is: How does instructional delivery (in-class discussion vs. online message board postings) affect participation among 5th grade students?

I am still unsure about the term "instructional delivery" and would love your input and ideas. I was thinking maybe "discussion method", but that didn't seem entirely accurate either...

Thanks to everyone for all your help :)

I am submitting version 1.6 at this point.
How do minorities in a high performing dominant high school culture who fail to meet minimum requirements on standardized tests perceive Whiteboard Videos as an educational acquisition tool?

Thanks to everyone in Perfect 10 and Dr. Summers for their input and ideas. What great fun we are having!

Vicky's research question -
Are there observable social, behavioral, and/or motor differences among typically developing children and children later diagnosed with Autism and Asperger Syndrome at the yearly landmarks of 12 months of age, 24 months of age, and 36 months of age?

I am LOVING graduate school. It is such a rewarding and enriching experience. It has been wonderful to get to know the others in our "Perfect 10". I concur with the others who have given kudos to Dr. Summers. I don't think we could do this without her!

I thought I would go ahead and share my research question on our blog! I know I am a little late getting my research ? on here but better late than never.

My research question is: How do third grade student's experiences in a learner-centered math class affect their self-efficacy as mathematicians?

I am very excited about my research and feel that I am ready to begin. I have now learned that is definitely an "Action Research" project because it will be conducted by the teacher (me) in the classroom. I am also hoping to make a change by incorporating a learner-centered approach into my school day.
